For decades we have been taught that fat is bad and that to be slim and healthy we need to eat a low fat diet. But in recent years, a growing number of medical experts and health-orientated specialists have been contradicting this idea and proving that it isn’t fat that is bad, but carbohydrates, particularly sugar. In fact, if the truth be known, a high fat diet may be the best thing that could ever happen to you, though it must be combined with a low intake of carbohydrates. Here are ten reasons why.
#10 Reduce inflammation
The first thing to learn about a high fat diet is that fats are not created equal. While dietary fats are essential to good health, some fats aren’t good for us – specifically the hydrogenated or partly hydrogenated fats found in processed foods, as well as trans fats and most seed oils (olive oil is one of the good ones). The secret is that unhealthy fats are high in omerga-6 fatty acids that are very inflammatory. It’s the omega-3 fatty acids that are good… and these are the once that promote health and reduce inflammation.
