Whiskey was a common drink of the construction worker, cowboy, and just all around badass. However, recently, it’s become common for all types of people to enjoy a shot every now and then. I bet if we told you, you can enjoy a shot of whiskey and not feel like you’re doing something wrong, you would be very excited, right? 1. Maintain Healthy Brain Function
It’s pretty common knowledge that if you drink too much you will become drunk and the effects on the brain will not be pleasant. However, a scientific study, in 2003, confirmed that drinking whiskey in moderation actually boosted your brains cognitive performance and diminished your likelihood of getting dementia and Alzheimer’s. Whiskey typically has ellagic acid in it, which helps combat free radicals associated with mental diseases. Again, keep in mind that it’s all about moderation. Drink too much and the benefits go away fast.
