Light sensitivity is a symptom which all patients will suffer after laser eye surgery. The transitory effect of the procedure causes quite a disturbance to your routine. It thus often scares many patients away from having it done. Many LASIK surgery patients exhibit dry eyes and corneal swelling, which is short lived. A more serious illness affects a minority of people. Decayed light hypersensitivity can last up to two months, although usually clears sooner. It only occurs in a small amount of cases.  Eye drops are available to reduce the extreme sensitivity.
