How do you get a fatty liver? When you overly consume more calories and fat than the liver is able to process. This results in the fat building up on the liver, which puts the liver in a vulnerable position to damage. People who are overweight or obese are more likely to suffer from a fatty liver. In fact, they have a 75% of developing a fatty liver than people who are not overweight.

There are some other causes to a fatty liver and liver damage, though. Diabetes, alcohol abuse, and hyperlipidemia can also cause liver issues.
