A failure of the blood to clot properly will result in bruising, even when there isn’t the usual trauma or strain that would normally cause a person to bruise. If this happens often and there is no other explanation, it might be that a serious blood disorder like leukemia or hemophilia is the culprit. Anyone who suddenly finds they are bruising frequently, and for no obvious reason, should see a physician as a matter of urgency. Even if it’s just a temporary hematoma (large bruise-like clot) a doctor will be able to treat it and ensure it heals more quickly.
