There is a certain satisfaction people get when they work hard on something. This stays true when it comes to building or renovating a house. Sometimes the reward can be much bigger than you may expect.

Take Sue Hansen and Dr. James Hansen, for instance. They wanted to remodel their home in Ballston Spa, New York. When they started the renovations, they couldn’t believe what they uncovered.

Dr. James Hansen, a dentist, had an office at 68 Milton Avenue in Ballston Spa, New York. He worked on the first floor of the building for almost 15 years. In 2011, he and his wife, Sue, decided to buy the building and live upstairs.
